Using guns as tools, where the work of the tools is the goal, not only the use of them. Because if this, I don't think gun conventions propagate healthy relationships with guns. My friend's live out in the country and they all go out hunting as a family every year; Mother, Father, Son and Daughter. They kill a few dear a year field dress, butcher and then can/freeze the meat. Combined with foraging and their own gardening they produce nearly everything they eat all year round. Their goal is in ten years with a combination of wind/solar and their own well to be completely off the grid. The kids are in their teens and responsible gun users and it would be a travesty to not only deny them the right to go hunting with their parents but to deny them the wisdom and experience of their forbears.
